The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an enthusiastic, friendly Banquet Server to our team at the Mystic Yachting Club! As an event server, you will have the opportunity to engage a diverse clientele across a variety of events.

What you'll be doing:

General: Follow the instructions of the Event Captain designated for the event.

Set-Up:

  • Attend pre-event meetings and briefings to understand event details, menu items, and service expectations.

  • Set up dining and beverage stations according to event specifications.

  • Assist with final preparations such as polishing glassware, setting tables, and ensuring all necessary utensils and condiments are ready.

During Event:

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their assigned tables.

  • Serve food and beverages promptly and according to established service standards.

  • Maintain knowledge of menu items and ingredients to answer guest questions and accommodate special dietary needs.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to any additional requests or concerns.

  • Coordinate with the expeditor and other servers to ensure efficient delivery and service of meals.

  • Ensure tables and dining areas are clean and presentable throughout the event. This includes all napkins are folded, all unnecessary bar glassware is cleared, and wine is replenished. DO NOT REMOVE the table glassware until the Captain has informed the team to begin clearing.

Breakdown:

  • Assist with breakdown and cleaning of event spaces, including removing linens, folding napkins, and storing equipment.

  • Assist with clearing and breaking down tables and chairs.

  • Confirm with the Captain or Supervisor that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next event or service.

What we're looking for:

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and service knowledge.

  • Experience in a catering or restaurant setting is preferred but not required.

Compensation:

$20/hour
